About Hallie

Hallie was first diagnosed with cancer when she was just four years old and began an aggressive treatment immediately. However, just a few months before her fifth birthday her family received news that she would lose her left eye and some of the bone and tissue surrounding the area. After months of treatments and several very long stays in the hospital Hallie was able to go home. Hallie continues to have routine checkups and MRI's at the Cleveland Clinic where she was first diagnosed and treated.

In April of 2008 just after Hallie turned 7 she started having blurred vision in her right eye. Her family took her to the hospital and it was found that the cancer had returned. Luckily with treatment the doctors were able to save her eye with minimal damage. Hallie continues to be closely monitored by her doctors.

Overall, Hallie is a typical kid. She has some great friends at school that have really accepted her. She loves to read, draw and play. Hallie's face has been left scarred and slightly disfigured. Hallie will be able to have reconstruction surgery when she is older. Hallie is doing ok right now and is looking forward to going back to school.
